Patients with postoperative depression after lumbar degenerative spine surgery have significantly higher odds of dissatisfaction at 12 months, with mild depression conferring 6.1-fold and moderate/severe depression conferring 7.5-fold increased odds compared to non-depressed patients, after adjusting for confounders and preoperative depression status.
