There was a significant interaction between treatment assignment and SYNTAX score. Patients with intermediate SYNTAX scores (23-32) demonstrated significantly greater angina relief with CABG than with DES-PCI (mean adjusted difference 2.8 points at 1 year), whereas benefits were minimal for patients with low or high SYNTAX scores (-0.1 and 0.3 points, respectively).
| Effect size | Intermediate SYNTAX (23-32): 2.8 points favoring CABG; Low SYNTAX (<=22): -0.1 points; High SYNTAX (>=33): 0.3 points |
| Follow-up | 1 year |
| Comparator | Percutaneous coronary intervention using drug-eluting stents (DES-PCI) |
| Effect summary | mixed; Intermediate SYNTAX (23-32): 2.8 points favoring CABG; Low SYNTAX (<=22): -0.1 points; High SYNTAX (>=33): 0.3 points |
